Those Eyes So Green

Short poem for the Pictonaut challenge of September 2014.

 

Oh, have you seen,

Those eyes so green,

Behind a veil of tangerine?

 

She’s foreign born,

Seeing new dawns,

While far behind the homeworld mourns,

 

A refugee,

Forced now to be,

Crossing across the galaxy.

 

Coming so far,

To where we are,

Abandoning a dying star.

 

So comes this queen,

With eyes so green,

Veiled ‘neath regal tangerine.
